The Xiaomi Mi 9 has just started receiving an update to MIUI 12.5 and its owners have two reasons to rejoice, as they are finally it also changes the basic version of Android from 10 to version 11. So this is a fairly large update (about 2.4 GB in size), so if you have limited data, don’t forget to download it to Wi-Fi.
Xiaomi Mi 9 receives MIUI in Europe 12.5
The update is referred to as MIUI V22.214.171.124.RFAEUXM. The letters EU mean that this update is for European customers. As is customary with Xiaomi, the update is introduced gradually, so it may take a few days for it to reach you as well. If the Chinese giant does not find any serious bugs, you can look forward to the update very soon.
If you still can’t wait, try checking the update manually in Settings> Software Updates and you may be among the selected ones. If you already have Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 already available, please let us know in the comments. We can look forward to higher performance, better system tuning or a completely redesigned Notes application, which now supports, for example, mind maps.
