Xiaomi Mi 11 receives the MIUI 12.5 extension in Europe

Xiaomi Mi 11 was introduced at the end of last year in China as the first smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. It came on the market with the Android 11 system and the MIUI 12 extension. In February, however, Xiaomi announced the MIUI 12.5 version and promised its global distribution at the turn of April and May.

Last month, the Chinese version of the Xiaomi Mi 11 received this extension, and this week it was also made available for global versions in Europe. This is also confirmed by the abbreviation “EU” in the numbering of the update 12.5.1.0.RKBEUXM. Its size is 656 MB and, in addition to the new extension, it also brings the April security patch of the Android 11 system.

What does the MIUI 12.5 extension bring?

In the update change list, the manufacturer states that it should deliver 20 times more rendering power and no smartphone will be faster after it. According to Xiaomi, the MIUI 12.5 superstructure should be lighter, faster and “more durable”. Annotations will bring many improvements, including support for thought maps with complex structures.

New drawing and sketching tools, shortcuts for gestures for creating notes, tasks, and snippets will also be added. The update is distributed in individual unspecified stages by region. Your smartphone should automatically notify you when it’s available. Prior to installation, make sure that the battery is charged to at least 70% of its capacity.

How’s Xiaomi’s competition?

The most active manufacturer in terms of software support in the last month is the South Korean Samsung. With the Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A11 smartphones, the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02 brought an update to the Android 11 system and the One UI 3.1 extension.
