Xbox Series X: limited stock until June 2021 according to Microsoft
Getting your hands on an Xbox Series X is going to be anything but fun, given the limited stock until June 2021. At least that’s what Microsoft expects.
Xbox Series X stock issue until June 2021
Mike Spencer, head of investor relations at Microsoft, told the New York Times that the stock of Xbox Series X will be limited until June 2021. The group sold all of its first stock in the last quarter of 2020. It must be said that the demand is important and there was Christmas in the middle. All this allowed Microsoft to generate a turnover of 5 billion dollars for the video game part. This is the first time that this milestone has been reached, moreover.
This limited stock until June 2021 for the Xbox Series X is not so much of a surprise. Microsoft has already mentioned problems acquiring the console. There’s also the case of AMD, which produces the console’s processor and graphics chip. Lisa Su, the boss of AMD, recognized that it was necessary to give a boost to be able to meet the high demand of players. “Industry needs to increase overall capacity levels. So we see some tightening in the first half of the year. But there will be an increase in capacity during the second half of the year ”, she said during the group’s last phone call with investors.
Same stock problem for Sony and PS5
Microsoft is not the only one affected by the inventory problem. Indeed, Sony is in the same situation with its PS5. Here again AMD takes care of the production of the processor and the graphics chip. Suffice to say that the group has a lot of work. Added to this are its Radeon RX 6800 and 6900 graphics cards. These too are not easy to find.
