Influencers can make a lot of money with their accounts on social media platforms like Instagram or Tiktok, especially if they have more than a million followers. However, people who have to inspire their followers with new photos or videos every day are under great pressure. Burnout, depression or fears are common among internet stars. Fame goes to the head of some. A Brazilian has now taken a drastic measure – and unceremoniously deleted the accounts of her influencer subsidiary.

Mother deletes accounts: dangerous internet fame
On the Brazilian TV show Fantástico Fernanda Rocha Kanner told why she separated her 14-year-old daughter Valentina from her Instagram and Tiktok accounts, where she had 1.7 million followers under the pseudonym Nina Rios. Kanner thinks the influence of social networks is unhealthy – especially for children and young people. Even for adults, it is not easy to separate comments on the Internet from one’s own self-worth. The effects of Internet fame on a 14-year-old girl who is currently in the discovery phase are dangerous, says Kanner.
“Radically yes, but also necessary,” said the worried mother, who by the way knows what she is talking about. Because she herself is active on various social media platforms, as Golem writes. On Instagram alone, Kanner currently has 117,000 followers. She doesn’t want her child to become a circus monkey who, for clicks and likes, throws himself into easily flammable polyester dresses from China. Her daughter shouldn’t think that her online fame reflects her real personality.
Daughter angry, but with no desire to come back
The daughter herself was admittedly not very enthusiastic about the drastic measure taken by her mother, even angry, as she also revealed on the TV program. Meanwhile, Valentina seems to have come to terms with it. She doesn’t want to return to the social media world for the time being.
