WiZ announces affordable fixtures for smart lighting

WiZ comes with a renewed product range of smart lighting. We discover various table lamps, ceiling lamps, recessed spots and an improved Smart Plug. All lamps are available immediately, and we discuss the new products here.

WiZ table lamps

For those who are not yet familiar with WiZ, it is a brand of Signify, the company that is known for the Philips Hue lamps. WiZ serves as the budget brand with which Signify wants to reach a wider target group, and the WiZ lamps have been available from us since last year. You can read all about our experiences with WiZ and the WiZ app here in the review.

The brand now presents two new table lamps: the WiZ Hero and Squire. The first is a compact table lamp that uses touch controls to create the right atmosphere for reading, working or relaxing. The lamp comes with pre-programmed wake up and bedtime modes and it is convenient to use as a lamp on your bedside table. The Squire, on the other hand, mainly wants to shine on your wall with colored light.

Ceiling lamps and recessed spots

For the first time, WiZ is also presenting a series of luminaires. The WiZ SuperSlim Tunable White ceiling lamps have a minimalist design that should fit well in living rooms and bedrooms, and with the Circadian Rhythm mode you can mimic the natural transition of sunlight during the day in the house. There is also the WiZ Adria Daylight Dimmable and Warm Dimmable ceiling lamps, they are intended to enable smart light in functional areas of the house. Think of the kitchen, bathroom or hall. WiZ users can hang the new frosted glass lamp above the dining table. This pendant lamp spreads warm to cool white light evenly.

Signify’s budget brand is also releasing recessed spotlights for the first time: the WiZ Full color or Tunable White, and the intention is that you can accentuate things in your home with it. Finally, you can make ordinary ‘dumb’ lamps smart with the improved Smart Plug. From now on, it has built in a power meter with which you can monitor your power consumption.
