With this statement, Google unsettles everyone

Now the uncertainty of the users is perfect. After Qualcomm has actually given hope that the Wear update for old smartwatches will work, Google is now pulling the rip cord and making the uncertainty perfect.

Google: Wear update for old watches is uncertain

A few weeks ago, Google, Samsung and Fitbit introduced Wear, a new smartwatch operating system that combines the best things from the three companies. The announcement caused a lot of positive reactions, because it would get the smartwatch market going again. But uncertainty arose immediately, because Samsung and Fossil said directly that there would be no upgrade from Wear OS to the new Wear. Qualcomm, on the other hand, has claimed that the older processors are supported and so gave hope again. Google, on the other hand, is now destroying this hope.

According to Google After all, the user experience comes first. The company says it has not yet confirmed an update for older smartwatches as there are many technical challenges to get the best user experience. In the end, this means that even Google doesn’t even know whether the new Wear runs smoothly on the old hardware.

You shouldn’t buy an Android smartwatch right now

If you are currently ready to spend a lot of money on a new Android smartwatch and want to have fun with it for the next few years, should wait to buy until there is clarity. Fossil and Mobvoi unveiled new watches a few days ago and the only question potential buyers have is how to upgrade. Google should soon provide clear conditions here and not hold people off pointlessly. Nobody is happy with this situation, neither the companies nor the potential buyers.
