Android 12 gets a new look

Google is going to announce Android 12 soon and as usual, this new Android version will get a lot of new features and capabilities. But the most striking thing in this Android version is the design. Google is introducing a modified version of the Material Design design language called Material You in Android 12. Thanks to Material You, you can adjust the interface’s appearance to the colors of the wallpaper you have set, so that the whole is more uniform.

As the name implies, the app offers Android 12-style clock widgets and weather widgets, but without the need for additional apps like KWGT to set them up. This is because the app is standalone. All you have to do is download the app and choose from the many widgets that the apps provide. Then press and hold the widget and drag it to the desired place on your home screen. With the weather widget you can specify a location or have the GPS location automatically copied from your phone.

Of course, the widgets will not automatically change their background colors based on the wallpaper you have set. To take advantage of this, you really need Material You’s wallpaper-based theme system, which is in, yes, Android 12. Fortunately, the app compensates for this. There are different colors and shapes to choose from and you can adjust the time and date format of the widgets. There are also different digital and analog clock styles to choose from and you can easily resize the clock widgets. You do that by pressing and holding them on the home screen.

The apps are free but only contain a few free clock and weather widgets. If you want to use more, you can purchase the Premium version, which fortunately only costs 0.99 cents.
