Windows 11: It’s that easy to find out whether your PC is fit for it
Microsoft has presented Windows 11 and many Windows 10 users are now naturally wondering whether their own PC is compatible with the new operating system. Microsoft has made a small app available for download that answers exactly this question. But things are not going completely smoothly at the moment.
Windows 11: App checks PC for compatibility
Microsoft will be rolling out the first pre-release version of Windows 11 next week. The final version of the new operating system should appear in the coming months. Who likes the new features and wants to know if Windows 11 is running on your own PC at all, you can now test it with an app.
Download the “PC Health Check” app
After installing the app on your PC, you will see an overview of the most important information about your system and you can then check whether Windows 11 can be installed on your computer with just one press of “Check now”. In the best case it looks like this:
In this case, your Windows 10 PC will be able to install Windows 11 directly when the new operating system is provided. But there is another way:
Windows 11 suddenly doesn’t work on my new gaming PC with AMD Ryzen 7, GeForce RTX 3070, 32 GB RAM and PCIe Gen 4 SSD with 512 GB internal memory? There are currently many problems with the display and Microsoft is already working on an update. It is probably about “TPM 2.0” in the processor, which is not mandatory at all, but rather “TPM 1.2” is a real basic requirement. In addition “TPM” and “Secure Boot” must be activated in the BIOS. A new version of the “PC Health Check” app is to be offered shortly, so that fewer problems arise when checking compatibility. Perhaps Microsoft will then use a checklist to find out exactly where the problem of the tested PC is.

Windows 11 is provided as a free update
Anyone who owns a Windows 10 PC and passes the exam in the app will receive Windows 11 as a free upgrade in a few months. The new operating system is installed via the update function of Windows 10. The first test version will start in the coming week, but not all of the innovations shown will be included. The final version of Windows 11 will be distributed in 2021.
