The Windows 10 user environment will be redesigned. We know what it will look like.

We previously reported that the icons will be redesigned, but the UI will also be updated in its entirety.

Windows 10X is not coming. It has been worked on for years, but Microsoft has decided to pull the plug. You would say a waste of work. That is not so bad, because many elements will be incorporated in the new update of Windows 10. The new design therefore looks suspiciously like Windows 10X.

Windows 10 newly designed user environment

The new designs showed up in the preview versions of Windows 10. Windows Latest found out. The new versions are not yet available, but can be accessed by modifying WindowsShellExperienceHost in Visual Studio. In the current preview builds, it appears that the new Action Center is in an early development phase. However, there are some notable changes. For example, there is a new slider (the slide icon above the quick actions) and it was first introduced with Windows 10X.

The upcoming Windows 10 update is called ‘Sun Valley’. It will be released in the coming months. It is now certain that there will be many elements of 10X in it. Floating menus also go to a core feature in the revamped UI, and it can extend to the Action Center.

Microsoft previously accidentally shared a screenshot of an upcoming developer feature. In a developer blog post, Microsoft posted a screenshot of the Windows apps dialog box with rounded corners. The blog post was immediately removed from the company’s website, but Windows Latest managed to take a screenshot.

The screenshot above, which comes from Microsoft’s edited blog post, shows the app’s dialog box. This new rounded corner design applies to confirmation, warning and other dialog boxes in the desktop apps.

Microsoft developers have already indicated that they are excited about the upcoming features for Windows. That makes sense, of course. We will probably hear more about it during the Build 2021 developer conference.
