When will Czechs see an ECG and a pressure gauge in Galaxy Watch 3 and Watch Active 2?

The latest models of smart watches from Samsung have, among other things, interesting medical functions. This is, for example, an electrocardiogram alias ECG or blood pressure monitor. Recently, for example, we also learned that another model will probably be able to measure blood sugar levels, which will be appreciated especially by diabetics. But gradually. As for the first two mentioned functions, you already have can soon be used by customers in the Czech Republic. The ECG and sphygmomanometer will soon be available in the Samsung Galaxy Watch3 and Galaxy Watch Active2 watches in the Czech Republic as well.

Until now, these functions have been strictly limited to certain regions, such as South Korea or the USA. This is due to the lengthy permitting process by the authorities. So far, the Czech owners of these watches could basically just envy and wait. Fortunately, this period is now coming to an end. Samsung Health Monitor, which mediates the ECG and sphygmomanometer, received CE certification in December 2020. This allows Samsung expand the service to 28 European countries, including the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The CE certificate confirms that the product meets the requirements for safety, health and environmental standards in the EU.

To start the manometer and ECG functions, it will also be necessary in the Czech Republic to have the Samsung Health Monitor application installed both in the Galaxy Watch3 or Galaxy Watch Active2 smart watch and in the Samsung Galaxy phone. Application Samsung Health Monitor is installed automaticallywhen users update their Galaxy watch to the latest version via the Galaxy Wearable app.

The updated application will be gradually available from February 4. Features will be available in the Czech Republic and Slovakia during March 2021 depending on the speed and result of registration of compatible devices as a medical device.
