A new change is waiting for WhatsApp. The last few days it was mainly about the new conditions, now it is about the read later function.
Archiving will be read later
In the latest beta version of WhatsApp, an indication of a change in the chat app has been found. WhatsApp is going to change things in the functions. It pertains to the archive function that you can now use to hide chats from your chat list. They will then end up in a separate screen, which you can reach at the bottom of your screen.
In the code of the latest version it appears that WhatsApp wants to rename the archive function to ‘Read later’, or ‘read later’. This function is therefore no longer at the bottom, but at the top of the conversation list. When this option is ticked, you will receive a brief explanation of what you can do with this. You can move messages to it that you want to view later. You will not receive any notifications in the meantime.
If you want to keep using the old archive function after the new one becomes available, that’s no problem. WhatsApp will give you the option via the settings to set the well-known archive function instead of ‘read later’.
It’s not clear at this point when WhatsApp will roll out the new feature.
