WhatsApp now lets everyone play voice messages faster

A new feature is now available in the WhatsApp app. Voice messages can now be played faster, which can sometimes be useful.

Fast playback of voice messages

An earlier beta version of WhatsApp made it possible to play voice messages faster. Now there is good news for every WhatsApp user who likes to send voice messages. If you don’t feel like or have the time to listen to someone’s whole story, this function can come in handy. WhatsApp has silently added the option to speed up a voice message.

You can speed up a voice message by tapping the play button. You will then see an icon on the left with the text ‘1x’. By tapping that you can choose to play a message 1.5x or 2x faster. For the time being it is -unfortunately- not possible to play a voice message in a delayed manner.
