WhatsApp adds the ability to send vanishing photos and videos

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared news a few months ago that will soon be added to WhatsApp. One of them has been hiding in the beta version of the application for a long time, and according to The Verge portal, it will also be added to the stable version from today. Speech is an option to send vanishing photos and videos.

The ability to send fading photos has been in beta for WhatsApp for a month

After the update, you will be able to send photos or videos, which will be automatically deleted after one view. You can recognize a similar function from the Instagram application. When sending, just click the “1” button that appears to the left of the send button. The recipient will see that it is a disappearing photo and can take a screenshot of it. Therefore, do not rely on the fact that he will only see the content of the photo once and that he cannot look it back.

WhatsApp as an example of using the new feature showed sending a photo that contains sensitive information, in this case a password on Wi-Fi. Of course, there are other ways to use the novelty. In any case, it is useful to be able to let a photo or video disappear right after opening and not wait seven days for it to be automatically deleted with other messages.

Zuckerberg confirmed in June that this feature will be added to the application, but did not say when. According to the WaBetaInfo portal, it has been possible to send disappearing photos in the beta version of the WhatsApp application for about a month. In the same interview, the CEO of Facebook also stated that later we can look forward to the support of several devices at once or the possibility to turn on the disappearance of messages globally, for all old and new platoons.
