Apple announced a series of new devices at WWDC last week. What more products can we expect from Apple in 2023?

Apple unveils Vision Pro and new Macs

At WWDC 2023, Apple released another batch of new hardware and software updates. Apple’s first VR glasses (the Vision Pro) and two new Macs were unveiled at the event. Earlier this year, Apple already presented the second generation HomePod and the new MacBook Pro. What more products can we expect from Apple in 2023?

1. iPhone 15 coming in September

In any case, it is certain that the iPhone 15 will appear this year. Every year, Apple presents the new series of iPhones in September. The new generation of iPhones probably consists of four models again: the regular iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

We already know a lot about the iPhone 15 series through rumors. These are the first iPhones with a USB-C connection and the 48 MP camera is also coming to the iPhone 15 (Plus). The iPhone 15 Pro Max even gets a completely new periscope camera, which will allow you to zoom in much further. The phones also get thinner screen edges than we have seen with an iPhone so far.

2. Apple will present new MacBook Air with M3 chip in 2023

During WWDC 2023, Apple also showed the first new MacBook Air of this year. The MacBook Air 2023 is a lot larger at 15.3 inches than the MacBook Air 2022. The new MacBook Air has a battery life of 18 hours and at 11.5 mm it is the thinnest 15-inch laptop ever. Other than that, the laptop has largely remained the same as last year’s MacBook Air.

The MacBook Air 2023 runs on the same M2 chip as the MacBook Air 2022, but Apple is expected to release another MacBook Air this year that has an M3 chip. The M3 chip in the MacBook Air 2023 and the A17 Bionic chip in the iPhone 15 are expected to be Apple’s first 3nm chips. These new processors are much faster and above all more energy efficient than the 5nm chips.

3. New model of the AirPods Max will be released this year

The first version of the AirPods Max has been around for a while, which makes it more than likely that the headphones will get an upgrade this year. Additionally, Apple announced a bunch of new AirPods features last week, but most of them aren’t coming to the AirPods Max. There is therefore a good chance that the new functions will come to the AirPods Max 2.

The new version of the AirPods Max will have a USB-C connection and (hopefully) a different operation. The AirPods Max are controlled with the Digital Crown, but the AirPods Max 2 will hopefully get touch controls like the AirPods Pro 2 also have. With this you can swipe or tap on the earcup to adjust the volume or change the song.

4. Apple Watch Series 9 coming in 2023

At WWDC 2023, Apple already presented watchOS 10. The new watchOS version includes a new smart stack with relevant widgets and beautiful new watch faces. Apple is also expected to announce a new generation of Apple Watch later in 2023. The Apple Watch Series 9 will then appear.

According to rumors, the Apple Watch Series 9 will get a new chip, which is based on the A15 chip of the iPhone 13. This time it would really be a new chip and not just a new name on a well-known chip. Thanks to this hardware upgrade, the Series 9 is a bit faster and more efficient again. As a result, the charging times are shorter and you can use the battery of your Watch a little longer.

Even more: new iPad and AirPods

So we can expect quite a few products from Apple in 2023, but that’s not all. For example, a new iPad will probably also appear, because Apple usually updates the regular iPads every year. Last year, Apple unveiled the new iPads in October, so it is quite possible that the iPad 2023 will be presented around the same period.

In addition, it has been a while since the regular AirPods received an update. The AirPods 3 appeared in 2021 and the AirPods 2 in 2019. If we follow this line, new AirPods should appear again this year. The AirPods are usually announced in the fall. So let’s wait and see, but Apple still has enough in store for 2023.
