OnePlus announces that it will work more closely with OPPO. “We have decided to further integrate our organization with OPPO,” said Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus. The brand has been working more with OPPO in recent months and saw the positive results.

OnePlus and OPPO

Whoever thinks of the largest manufacturer of smartphones may first consider companies such as Samsung and Apple, but the Chinese BBK Electronics may not call themselves the largest. The company owns brands like OPPO, OnePlus, Vivo, Realme and IQOO. Since the first quarter of 2021, it took over from Samsung and became the largest manufacturer of phones, according to KrAsia.

Since OPPO and OnePlus work under the same conglomerate, there was already some cooperation between the two smartphone brands, and it was reflected in the phones. The phones have been made by the same team since the beginning of this year, and OnePlus CEO Pete Lau also performs tasks at OPPO. In a forum post, the man announces that OnePlus will work even more closely with OPPO.

We have since integrated some of our teams with OPPO’s to better streamline our work so that everyone can use the same shared resources After seeing the positive impact of those changes, we have decided to further integrate our organization with OPPO,” said Pete Lau.

The CEO expects that the collaboration will mainly bring improvements when it comes to rolling out software updates. The intention is that patches follow faster and contain fewer errors. OnePlus will continue to express itself as a brand in the same way and it will continue to interact with fans and users on the same channels, the CEO assures.

Despite the promises of Pete Lau, it is undoubtedly the biggest fear for fans of OnePlus is about to lose its individuality. The brand has already been criticized for this from the most active members of the community. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei also left the company late last year and founded a new tech company called Nothing.
