We already know who will shoot the first part of the series The Last of Us -apkrig

Despite the great competition in the field of video game adaptations, The Last of Us is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated and promising projects. According to Hollywood Reporter magazine, the Russian Cantemir Balagov joined the experienced author team. The screenwriter and director of the films Těsnota a Vysoká Dívka is to shoot a pilot episode of the series.

Chernobyl author Craig Mazin and co-author of the original play Neil Druckmann are involved in the script. The music for the series should be composed by Argentine musician and composer Gustavo Santaolalla, who is also signed under the soundtrack to both plays. The winner of two Oscars for music for the films Babel and Tamed Mountain, he also composed the soundtrack for 21 grams, Close to Each Other and Wild Stories.

Chernobyl director Johan Renck was originally expected to shoot the series.

The series adaptation of The Last of Us for HBO is one of the first television and film projects to be adapted directly under the supervision of PlayStation. It was originally supposed to be filmed by Chernobyl director Johan Renck, but a suitable date could not be found. If anything can be deduced from Kantemir Balagov’s involvement, then given that his production will be as dark a matter as the games themselves.

It is worth noting that the official account of the Russian government on Twitter also responded to the announcement. Fans were fascinated, among other things, because the game does not avoid LGBT issues, while Moscow does not like it too much. Diplomatically speaking.

The TV series according to The Last of Us was announced last March and should be based primarily on the first game, although it will also feature characters and events that we do not know from the original. It could also potentially fill the story gap between the first and second works. And if he succeeds, we can probably imagine that he would continue with the adaptation of The Last of Us Part II.

HBO gave the project its final green light in November. On the contrary, so far it has completely failed from the originally intended film adaptation, which was announced in March 2014. The screenplay was written by Neil Druckmann and the producer was to be Sam Raimi. However, the perceptions of the individual actors about the form of the resulting film obviously differed considerably. Finally, after several years of filming on the ice, preparations were officially stopped.
