Waze comes with the ability to find electric charging stations

The average Tesla is a massively elaborate car, but it doesn’t have what Waze does. The navigation app has announced that it will come with a map filter that allows you to see which charging stations are nearby at once.

With this Waze meets a problem that many electric drivers have to contend with, because especially now that it is so cold, the battery of the electric car suddenly runs out very quickly. You then quickly need a charging station, but then you have to know where to find it. Waze, in partnership with Volkswagen, will now show at least in the United States where the nearest charging station is, writes 9to5Google.

With a filter on the map you can see at once where all the charging options for your vehicle are. You can also see the status of a charging station and have it navigated to the location in one go to quickly recharge your car in order to cover more kilometers. Although it is a collaboration with Volkswagen, it does not only show the charging stations that are run by that company, other charging stations are also visible, just as you know from Google Maps.

What’s in it for Volkswagen? Waze has given him permission to show an advertisement for the brand’s new ID.4 car to users who are looking for charging locations. You can even change your avatar to the ID.4, just like you can change your avatar in Google Maps to include a funny pickup truck.

Waze is a navigation app owned by Google, but it doesn’t quite work like Google Maps. Waze relies even more on community input, so you can quickly see if there’s been an accident or another roadblock. It is hoped that the new ability to see charging stations will come to Europe soon. It would also make sense, since Volkswagen is not exactly an American company.
