Watches with Wear OS will be even faster. What do we know about the chip?

Qualcomm introduced a new chipset for smart watches – the Snapdragon Wear 4100 about a year ago, and although it is only ticking in selected watches such as the TicWatch Pro 3 or TicWatch E3, a successor is set to be named Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 5100.

People from XDA-Developers came to this news and found the code in the codes on the Code Aurora forum“LAW.UM.2.0-00700-SW5100.00”to detect the upcoming chipset. LAW stands for Linux Android Wear, UM stands for Unified Modem, and SW5100 stands for Snapdragon Wear 5100.

According to a more detailed report, the new chip bears the internal designation monaco. It should be equipped with a processor with four Cortex-A73 cores, which will be some improvement over the Cortex-A53 cores in the Snapdragon Wear 4100. Of course, support for Wear OS 3, it is not clear whether the chipset will support the current Wear OS at all.
