Walk your favorite part from a video on YouTube

Only like a small part of a YouTube video and want to watch it a few times in a row? Then you always have to put the player back yourself and watch the piece again. That’s about to change, because you’ll soon be able to loop an entire chapter.

YouTube made it possible in 2020 for content creators to divide their video into chapters. This makes it easier for viewers to skip to a certain piece/moment in one go. Very handy, because if you want to follow a certain recipe, for example, you don’t have to see the whole article about shopping or eating the end result.

You can easily find the chapter, but soon you will also be able to loop only that specific chapter. It then plays one chapter over and over, instead of moving on to the rest of the video. Moreover, you can also generate a specific link to that chapter of the video, which makes it convenient to share it with others.

Also very useful for hilarious videos: there is a certain moment when you completely giggle every time, then you can watch it over and over again without lifting a finger yourself. XDA developers discovered in an APK check of the YouTube app (build 17.01.36) that a chapter repeat is coming: chapter repeat. It’s not to say that that also means you can loop through a particular chapter, but at the same time, there isn’t much room for any other interpretation.

It’s been possible to loop entire YouTube videos for some time, but that feature may be expanded soon. Or the developers of the YouTube app decide to remove the function again, because as long as nothing has been officially announced and it is not yet in the final app, it is never certain whether such a function will actually appear.
