The infected app requests access to call settings and other details. Among other things, the location, settings, parameters and the telephone number can be traced in this way.
According to the researchers, malware was found in 190 games. The categories range from puzzle games to simulation games and from card games to first-person shooters. More than 9.3 million people are said to have downloaded and installed the apps. The affected applications were immediately removed from the AppGallery by Huawei after the investigation.
