Veronica has a demo version of -apkrig
You may still remember that we wrote in May that a fan remake of the survival horror film Resident Evil was being created – Code: Veronica. Its authors promised that it would be divided into chapters, the first of which will be published in June. And we really had our first playable tasting. Although in the end not whole chapters. It is available at the moment demo pro PCwhich you can download and try yourself, or at least look at the recording.
The demo does not spare the first responses
However, the first responses are probably not what the authors hoped for. Some serious bugs did not escape the demo version, so an updated version will be released tomorrow. Meanwhile, the first daredevils complain that the game is unplayable, that the demo is terrible, that it is not a demo, but a non-functional prototype and so on. However, it must be emphasized once again that this is a non-commercial project in which only a pair of enthusiasts are working. Therefore, others appreciate their efforts despite the embarrassing introduction.
The authors want to remake the whole game in the spirit of RE2 and RE3 remakes, but respect the original. They will offer a choice of modern 3rd person camera as well as original partially fixed cameras. Their project is created in the Unity engine and also attracts players to some unspecified extended content.
Two new features
In addition to the original information, the developers have now announced that they will add two new features to the game. The first is the arcade mode, in which you practice shooting the undead in the manner of The Mercenaries mode. The second is the photo mode, which according to the authors themselves is still angry, but could make the fans happy.
Resident Evil – Code: Veronica was first released on the Dreamcast in February 2000, and a year later on the PS2 with the subtitle X in an improved version. The game arrived on the GameCube in 2003, and in 2011 we saw a light HD remaster for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. You can also play the original PS2 version on the PS4
You can find more details about the project in our older article and on the official website.
