Vanguard – First details about campaign, multiplayer and warzone

With Call of Duty: Vanguard, the series returns (once again) to its roots in the Second World War. But while WW2 was telling a story in Europe, you will travel around the world in Vanguard and witness the birth of the special military command.

Developer Sledgehammer Games is involved Call of Duty: Vanguard now the 18th part of one of the most popular shooter series. After the Cold War set the setting with Black Ops Cold War, Vanguard is once again the one used very often by shooters Second World War as a setting. Sledgehammer Games should still be good in the topic, the last game of the studio was WW2 (2017).

The shooter has already been presented in more detail at a press event. As with Cold War, players experience the unveiling of Vanguard as an event in Warzone.

CoD: Vanguard sends you around the world once

As you can see in the first teasers, the Vanguard campaign is about four of the greatest scenes of World War II. the Western front was the stage of history in the very first Call of Duty, and so was it Eastern Front is a part of both the 1st and the 18th CoD. the Pacific Front will also be represented in Vanguard, you have already been there in World at War. The last scene joins the Africa front in addition, since Call of Duty 2 this is not unknown territory for the franchise.

The birth of the special commands

A detail that was also hidden in the first teasers are the four main characters of the story. Each originally comes from one of the four fronts and as the teasers have already revealed, they make up that Vanguard task force. According to the developers, you are witnessing the birth of the special command.

The four main characters:

• Sgt.Arthur Kingsley: British Paratrooper (Western Front)
• Lt. Polina Petrova: Soviet female sniper (Eastern Front)
• Cpt. Wade Jackson: American fighter pilot (Pacific Front)
• 2Lt. Lucas Riggs: Australian soldier (Africa Front)

The story of Vanguard takes place towards the end of World War II. The Allies find out about one secret plan of the Nazis under the name of Phoenix project under the leadership of the Gestapo director and antagonist of history Heinrich Freisinger. The task force made up of the four characters mentioned is sent out to get to the bottom of the matter.

First details about the multiplayer

During the press event, there was a brief overview of the plans for Vanguard’s multiplayer. A strong point of criticism from Cold War was the low number of maps at the time of the release. Vanguard is supposed to be with whole 20 maps to start with will appear, of which 16 will be 6v6 maps and the rest are made for 2v2 modes. All four locations of Vanguard can be found in the maps. The maps even allow a certain amount of destruction.

There were also some interesting announcements on the subject of gameplay. So the armorer returns where you can upgrade your weapons with various attachments. You can also get your Place the weapon on the edges and shoot more precisely. A new feature will be the possibility Fire blind from cover to be able to, as it is actually more the case with cover shooters.

There was a little teaser for a mode called Champion Hill. This is supposed to be a mix of Battle Royal and the 2v2 mode Gunfight. Individually, in dous or trios, the players compete against each other in a tournament-like series of matches.

Warzone gets new map and anti-cheat system

With Vanguard it will be one too brand new warzone map which, however, is developed by Raven Software. On top of that there is a new one Anti-cheat systemwhen the Vanguard integration occurs. All three games are to be linked in Warzone and the season system will continue.

More information and release

More specific information about multiplayer and also about Warzone will follow in the coming weeks. A Zombie mode there will also be, but it is created by the developer Raven software and tells the story of what happened in Cold War. Call of Duty Vanguard is expected to be released on November 5th, 2021.
