Valve brings the results of the Next Fest and attracts the next season -apkrig

In response to the response to the coronavirus pandemic, Valve hosted Game Fest last summer. The event, which made demo versions of the upcoming titles available on Steam, continued thanks to the success and interest of Steam’s developers and users, and this year it was transformed into Next Fest. Valve will continue these events and in a short blog he provides clearly defined reasons that may not have been completely obvious to the players. The biggest point of criticism of Game Fest, resp. Next Fest, there were a number of demo versions represented – they numbered in the hundreds and for a limited time it was basically impossible to try them all, or effectively find the most interesting pieces and pay enough attention to them.

However, according to Valve, quantity is not a problem, as evidenced by the percentage of how much interest on the part of players to add titles to the wish list has increased. The median stopped at a 452 percent increase, which applies to more than half of the titles that were included in the festival’s demo versions last year. Another 45 percent of titles saw an increase, although not so high, and only five percent of developers reported a decrease in absolute terms for their games. wishlistů. However, there was interest in the games even after the end of the festival, and two weeks later the median increase was 15 percent.

However, the festival also affected the sale of the games when they were completed and reminded the Steam user of the wish list. According to the valve, the increase was 292 percent and the conversion of wish list entries made during the festival and two weeks before was compared. However, all this corresponds to the data from last year, when there were fewer games and the criticism of the parties mentioned in the introduction to a large number of demo versions did not apply to this year. festival season, however, Valve states at the end of the blog that the numbers are even higher due to the greater interest of players, although he does not express them specifically so far. Valve communicates all this on the eve of the closing of registrations for the next round of Next Fest, which is scheduled for August 15. The event itself will then come into play in October.
