Update with contact diary for iOS and Android ApkRig

At the end of the year there will be an update for the Corona warning app: In December 2020, an update will be rolled out for the application to combat Covid-19. This is a practical feature on your smartphone with iOS or Android that makes contact tracking easier.

Do you currently keep a handwritten diary, for example to record your daily contacts at work? That should now be a thing of the past: The Corona warning app offers you an integrated contact diary after the current update, as reported by Caschy’s blog. The update is now available for the iPhone. For Android smartphones, the update should be released by December 30, 2020 at the latest. However, it is already available on our Galaxy S20 +, for example.

This is how the contact diary works

After the update, you can easily record who you have met and where in the last two weeks within the Corona Warning app. To do this, you simply have to transfer the relevant contacts from your phone book to the contact diary. This is done using the blue button “+ person”. In addition to the name, you can also record the period and place.

If you test positive for Covid-19, you can send the data collected in this way to the health department on request. In this way, you are helping to trace possible contacts and helping to slow down the spread of the virus.

Automatic deletion after 16 days

If you do not want to transmit the data, you now have at least an overview of the contacts on your smartphone yourself thanks to the Corona warning app. This can be useful, for example, if someone in your circle of friends tests positive for Covid-19. Incidentally, the app automatically deletes the data after 16 days. This is done in terms of data protection and relieves the storage space of your mobile phone.

The federal government launched the Corona warning app in June 2020. It is intended to simplify the tracking of contacts with the coronavirus infected people. The application now also works on Huawei smartphones without Google services – and on older iPhone models such as the iPhone 6.
