Huawei could once again sell part of its mobile division. After Honor, the Chinese manufacturer would seek to sell its P and Mate ranges still because of American sanctions.
Update: In a press release, the firm denies these rumors
“Huawei has taken note of the unfounded rumors currently circulating about the possible sale of its high-end smartphone brands. These rumors have no legitimacy. Huawei is not planning anything like that. We remain fully engaged in our smartphone business and we will continue to deliver the best possible products and experiences around the world. “
For almost a week, Donald Trump has ceased to be the President of the United States. The consequences of the economic sanctions against Huawei are still being felt for the brand. According to two sources close to the manufacturer, relayed by the Reuters site, the Chinese technology company would like to sell its flagship ranges of telephony. The P and Mate brands, the main suppliers of high-end products, would be affected. Discussions are underway with another Chinese consortium.

Huawei sells the P and Mate ranges but would keep its development teams
At the end of 2020, the firm approached another company in order to sell its subsidiary Honor. According to Reuters, negotiations have started for the sale of the P and Mate ranges, which have been Huawei’s flagship in recent years. The objective of this maneuver is above all to recover Google services and American equipment. The manufacturer will thus be able to offer very high-end telephones under another name. Also according to the site, the brand would continue its transition to its own HarmonyOS operating system.
As with Honor, Huawei would also transfer its teams to once again offer a high-performance device. Be careful, however, this information should be taken with a grain of salt since a spokesperson for the company has already denied the information from Reuters. One of the unknowns for the coming weeks concerns the decision that Joe Biden will take for the Chinese company. A lifting of the sanctions is perhaps possible as it is totally excluded. Still, for this year 2021, the Chinese brand should once again rely on these accessories and PC.
