Unwritten Stories for “Always Helpful” (Locations)

Unwritten stories are hidden quests in the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut. On the island of Iki you can discover six such quests that are not marked on the map. At this point we will therefore show you the starting points and solutions for all unwritten stories.

All the unwritten stories on Iki (Ghost of Tsushima)

The hidden quests are not recorded in your quest log and are not marked anywhere else. You have to complete them, among other things, in order to be able to use “Always helpful” unlock one of the trophies of Ghost of Tsushima.

The unwritten stories are mostly only very short missions in which you have to save NPCs from the Mongols. They are available from the start and only need to be found by you. In the following we show you the starting points and solutions for all six hidden quests.

Buried boatman (unwritten story # 1)

You may complete this quest automatically shortly after landing on Iki for the first time. Along the north coast you have to search for your lost horse and discover the shipwreck you arrived with on the beach.

Next to the ship lies the The boatman’s corpse. Step up to her and press the R2 button to bury the operator. After a short cutscene, this hidden quest is considered completed.

Defending Hachibee (Unwritten Story # 2)

Make your way to the hut south in the old player’s forest next to the broken cliffs. Here the beekeeper will meet you Hachibee ask for help as the Mongols are attacking his home.

Talk to Hachibee, who then hides in the house and then fend off the waves of attack by the Mongols until everyone is done to bring this unwritten story to a close. If you lead the Mongols to the honeycombs in battle, the bees will help you against the Mongols.

Helping Kodama (unwritten story # 3)

Make your way to the ruined hut east of Nagata Lake and interact with the eye-catching banner in front of the entrance. Then an NPC with a fox mask (Kodama) appears. Talk to her and then follow her.

It will stop a few yards away and point up to a forest hill. Then interact with the marker in front of her, at which you can “peek” (press the R2 button). Then focus on the point in the forest in front of you from which you hear noises.

After the peek, Kodama is gone and you have to run up the hill to the forest in front of you and defeat the Mongols in the forest. After that, the quest is not over. Return to the ruined hut and run to the nearby tree trunk. Take the supplies here and read the scroll so that the story is counted as finished.

Saving farmers (unwritten story # 4)

Go to the large rocks at the waterhole near Buddha’s footprints in the south of Iki. Here some farmers are threatened by two groups of opponents of the Mongols.

Kill all Mongols and free the peasants. A short cutscene then starts in which the injured are cared for. This unwritten story is then considered to be over.

Potential trophy bug: If you have completed all of the unwritten stories and have not received “Always Helpful”, walking around the area of ​​Buddha’s footprints for a while may help. Also walk the way to the shrine in the shade, with some players the trophy popped up.

Arch Challenge at the Looters Memorial (Unwritten Story # 5)

Go to the looters memorial on the south coast of Iki. There is an NPC here you can talk to.

If you put on Tadayori’s armor and talk to him, a hidden bow challenge will be unlocked, which you have to complete with at least bronze in order to complete this hidden quest. You will receive Tadayori’s armor as a reward for the mythical story “The Legend of Tadayori”. In the linked guide we show you the starting point and the solution.

Potential trophy bug: If you have completed all the unwritten stories and have not received “Always ready to help”, it can help to complete this bow challenge again with a better result or better time. In the PS4 version, it can also take up to a minute for the trophy to pop up at the end of the quest.

Tell Uta about Legends mode (unwritten story # 6)

Go to the hut on the hill northwest of Zasho Bay. In it sits NPC Utato speak to for this story.

To complete this quest, you must have previously played the separate legend mode (online co-op) and complete at least all 9 story missions on the difficulty “bronze” here. Only then can you go to Uta and speak to her a second time.

Then sit down with her and tell her about the legend mode to complete the unwritten story. As a reward, you will also receive the from her “White Kitsune Mask” and if this was your last hidden quest, you will now also get the trophy “Always ready to help”.

Potential bug: It can happen that the progress from the legend mode is not transferred properly and you cannot tell Uta about the legend even though you have completed all 9 story missions. Here it can help to complete the last story mission in legend mode again so that you can talk to Uta for the second time.
