If a manufacturer from Taiwan has its way, then a single display is no longer enough. His latest smartphone has a second screen on the back – and this crazy idea could actually work.

Asus ROG Phone 4/5 with two displays

There have been rumors for a long time that Asus is planning something very special with its next smartphone. Now there is a short video before the official presentation popped up, in which the unique selling proposition of the gaming phone can be seen. Accordingly, there will be a small, diagonally arranged screen on the back, on which a wide variety of information can be seen. Incoming messages or calls can be displayed here, for example.

What exactly the manufacturer intends to do with its second display on the back is not yet known. The only thing that is certain is that there will be a second screen. This can be found exactly where an illuminated logo was placed on the predecessor. It also remains unclear whether the cell phone will really come onto the market as the Asus ROG Phone 4. Rumor has it that the manufacturer could skip the 4 and release the smartphone as the ROG Phone 5. The number 4 is considered an unlucky number in some Asian countries.

Apart from the special display, the cell phone is supposed to distinguish itself above all with a particularly strong battery, like Pocketnow reported. This should come to a capacity of 6,000 mAh and can be charged with up to 65 watts wired. The predecessor still had 30 watts. For further equipment, it has been said so far that an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 888 processor should be used. It is supported by 8 GB of RAM.

A 120 Hertz mode is assumed:

Asus ROG Phone 4/5 still takes its time

The manufacturer has not yet revealed when the Asus ROG Phone 4/5 will be launched. A presentation at the end of 2020 was originally assumed. A publication is now expected in the first half of 2021.
