Try it out: The RSS reader is already working on Chrome Beta Mobile

At its recent regular I / O conference, the American Google showed, among other news, how it intends to make its Chrome browser RSS reader. Chrome Beta has currently learned to read these news sources from the web, so you can get the latest news try it before it arrives in the sharp version. As is customary with Chrome, it is activated in a “flags” environment with experimental features. Specifically, the item “Web feed”, in question, has been among the flags before, but not functional. It wasn’t until Chrome Beta 92 that this RSS tool came to life. So how to start it manually?

  1. if you don’t, download Chrome Beta from the Play Store
  2. open the chrome: // flags address
  3. find the “Web feed” function in the menu and switch it to Enabled
  4. restart browser (Relaunch bottom right)
  5. done, the feature should be on

As soon as you start the Web feed or the integrated RSS reader in this way, you will find the result in two places. When you visit the selected website, open the menu in the top right (three dots) in Chrome, you’ll see the server name and at the bottom “+ Watch” button. When you click on it, the site is included in the “Watched” channel, which is available on the main Chrome screen (for example, when you click + New tab) next to the current channel For You. Watched sites can be viewed and managed via a gear.
