Which calculator is more worthwhile?

Both systems offer enough power to play in WQHD resolution at maximum or in 4K with slightly reduced graphics settings. But the cheaper of the two systems is clearly the more interesting due to the better price-performance ratio.

If you want to put together a similar PC configuration yourself, you have to do it around 1,900 euros put on the table (comparative price: 1,927.65 euros via stingings; As of November 23, 2021). So if you buy the Aldi calculator instead, saves you not just under 300 euros, but also gets a 3-year manufacturer’s guarantee. And how does that work with the more expensive system?

Thanks to the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, this offers more CPU performance in productive programs, but the difference in performance when playing games in high resolution is rather marginal. The same applies to the performance plus of the RTX 3070 Ti compared to the RTX 3070 from the inexpensive system. Gamers can expect around 10 to 15 percent more gaming performance. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether a surcharge of 900 euros is worthwhile – however, we do not recommend it.

If you wanted to assemble the same system with a Ryzen processor, you can currently save a few euros by purchasing the individual parts. We have put together a similar system and land at a price of 2,485.30 euros (Status: 23/11/2021 via curmudgeon).

The Medion Erazer Engineer X10 and the Hunter X25 went on sale on November 25th, 2021 at 7:00 a.m. in the Aldi online shop. The past has shown that the discounter’s gaming PCs are usually sold out within a few minutes. So if you want to secure one of the two computers, you should strike quickly.
