TikTok has become in a few years one of the largest social networks in the world ! Enough to compete more than seriously with Facebook and Snapchat who thought they were untouchable. Today, the Chinese application is a favorite of apprentice influencers around the world who secretly dream of only one thing: to create a buzz with a video that will get millions of views. It allows a video to appear massively in the “For you” category in a few seconds and without any effort on your part. Based on testimonials from former and current TikTok employees, they can highlight their own to increase its global reach. So all social networks have this kind of functionality and this is indeed what makes it possible to highlight and disseminate important information on a large scale in partnership with public health organizations or governmental institutions: highlight messages for vaccination, youth voting, etc. The problem is that TikTok would have used it in order to help certain brands to, then, become their commercial partner. Even more disturbing, employees would have benefited from the manipulation to support their own sharing or that of their families or friends. A maneuver of course prohibited by company policy.
