2. Tips to really hide photos on your iPhone (without deleting them)

Every photo you take is saved in the Photos app. That’s often fine, but sometimes you take a photo that not everyone needs to see when they ‘borrow’ your iPhone. In that case, you can hide the photo without deleting it.

But by default, your iPhone still shows the hidden photos in the “Hidden” album. You can do something about this yourself. Because this album can also be hidden. You do that in the following way.

Hide photos really well on your iPhone, without deleting them

  1. Open the Photos app and tap the photo you want to hide;
  2. Tap the share icon at the bottom left (the square with the arrow), scroll down and choose ‘Hide’;
  3. Tap ‘Hide photo’ again to confirm your choice;
  4. Open the ‘Settings’ app, scroll down and choose ‘Photos’;
  5. Scroll down and turn off the slider at ‘Album Hidden’.

Your photos are now well hidden and the ‘hidden’ album is no longer shown. If you still want to view the hidden photos, you must first turn on the slider next to the hidden album in the settings.

3. Secure WhatsApp with Face ID

Who doesn’t have WhatsApp? It is one of the easiest and most popular chat services. Still, you don’t want someone to be able to read your conversations when they have your iPhone. Also, if you regularly lend your iPhone to your kids, they don’t necessarily have to be in your WhatsApp conversations.

Therefore, secure your WhatsApp with Face ID. You hardly have to worry about that when you want to use WhatsApp, and you don’t have to worry that someone can just come to your chats when they use your phone.

  • Open the WhatsApp app and tap ‘Settings’ at the bottom right;
  • Choose ‘Account > Privacy’;
  • Scroll down and tap “Screen Lock”;
  • Turn on the slider at ‘Request Face ID’ and choose ‘Immediate’.
