Google 3D animals: 50 new pets in December 2020
Displaying 3D animals and objects works via augmented reality. You can let all kinds of insects swarm and fly in the living room or project extinct dinosaurs. Google has now added dozens of animal species, so you can view or let more animals roam.
This is how you can view animals in augmented reality:
- Open Google Chrome (or other browser) on your smartphone
- Surf to Google.nl and enter the animal name in the search field

- Swipe down and click ‘View in 3D’
- Choose your favorite animal and click on ‘Show in your room’
- If necessary, give permission to the camera of your smartphone
- Click ‘View full size’ when you enter the animal
What new animals can you watch?
The major AR update mainly brings all kinds of new varieties. For example, you can now let dozens of types of dogs run through your living room, just like different cats.
