Pixel 5a announced

The Pixel 5a smartphone has just been officially announced by Google. It has been in the air for a while that the manufacturer would announce a new smartphone. Google thought the time was not yet right to announce the Pixel 6 series as well. Images of those two smartphones have already appeared, note from Google itself.

So now it’s time for the Google Pixel 5a. The smartphone is supposed to be an upgrade of the Pixel 4a 5G released by the company last year. Google has equipped the Pixel 5a with a Qualcomm processor, to be precise the Snapdragon 765G. Furthermore, we see a 6.34 inch Full-HD AMOLED panel with the standard refresh rate of 60Hz. Google has given the device an IP67 certificate for water and dust resistance. On the Pixel 5a we also come across 6GB of RAM, as well as 128GB of storage space and a 4680 mAh battery. Charging is with 18W.

Google has given the Pixel 5a a dual camera. This is a 12.2 megapixel main lens and a 16 megapixel wide-angle lens. The front camera has 8 megapixels. At the back, the smartphone is equipped with a fingerprint scanner. There is also the Titan M security module and there is eSIM support. The Pixel 5a comes with Android 11 and also has a 3.5 millimeter connection for a headset.

The Pixel 5a comes with a price tag of $449. If you are interested in the device, you will have to go to Japan or the United States for it. A European release is not planned; meaning the Pixel 5a isn’t coming to Germany either.
