Apple will not announce these products during the event in March
Apple will hold its first event of 2022 on March 8. The event will be called “Peek performance” and will likely focus on a new iPhone SE, a refreshed iPad Air and updated Macs. However, Apple also has a lot of products in the pipeline that we won’t see until later this year. Don’t expect these things at the Apple event next week.
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro
One thing’s for sure: we won’t be seeing an iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro at the ‘Peek performance’ event. Apple doesn’t announce its new iPhones until around September every year. The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro have only been on the market for about half a year. Whatever Apple is going to announce on March 8; at least it’s not an iPhone 14.
There are already a lot of rumors surrounding the iPhone 14 (Pro). The device is expected to get a lot of new functions. Consider, for example, a 48 megapixel camera and a housing made of titanium. The battery life of the smartphone is also reportedly longer than ever. The regular iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max retain a notch, but the Pro variants will reportedly get two small holes in the screen for the selfie camera and Face ID sensors.
New iPad Pro
Apple announced the most recent iPad Pro in April 2021. That’s almost a year ago, but we don’t expect a new iPad Pro 2022 at next week’s Apple event. The current model probably doesn’t need an update in Apple’s eyes – and we agree. Due to its M1 chip, the tablet is more powerful than all other tablets currently on the market. We expect the next iPad Pro sometime in the fall.

Updated MacBook Pro
In October 2021, Apple gave the MacBook Pro a major upgrade. The latest version of the laptop has all kinds of versatile ports, the screen is bigger than ever and the screen edges are nice and thin (this gives the device a notch). Thanks to the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, the current MacBook Pro is the most powerful Apple laptop at the moment. Since the device has been updated so recently, we know for sure that Apple will not announce a new version of the MacBook Pro for a while.
We do hear rumors about a new entry-level MacBook Pro. This would have less good specifications than the regular MacBook Pro. As a result, the price of the device is also much lower. There’s definitely a chance we’ll see this laptop at the ‘Peek performace’ event.

Much-discussed AR/VR glasses
We have already written several times about AR/VR glasses from Apple. This mixed-reality headset has been in development for years. It is unknown when the device will be released on the market. A number of well-known sources talk about a release in the fall of 2022. Other sources talk about 2023, 2024 or even 2025. So the chance is very small that we will see the first AR/VR glasses from Apple next week.

Apple Watch Series 8 and new Apple Watch SE
Apple announces the new version of its popular Apple Watch every year at the iPhone event. As discussed earlier, this will only take place in or around September. We will be there iPhoned so rest assured that Apple won’t announce a new smartwatch next week.
Little is known about the Apple Watch Series 8 and updated SE. For example, we do not know whether Apple will change the appearance. There are rumors that there may be an extra large version of the Apple Watch.
AirPods Pro 2
The AirPods Pro are from 2019 and have not yet received a successor. Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the AirPods Pro 2 release will take place in the fourth quarter of 2022. We will therefore not see these earplugs during the event on March 8.
According to several sources, the AirPods Pro 2 will have a new design without the ‘stems’. If that is indeed the case, they might be more like Apple’s Beats Studio Buds.
