The new version of the Telecommunications Act (TKG) provides for improvements for consumers. One of them is the possibility of defending yourself more easily if the Internet provider does not perform as promised. Anyone who can only achieve part of the internet speed booked in the contract can reduce the monthly payments.

This has been possible for a long time, but it usually meant immense effort to assert yourself against providers. The new Telecommunications Act is now in force. By means of a speed test, consumers now have a basis for payment reductions.

But there is a catch: The Measurement via app is not yet ready. Measurements with the laptop version via LAN connection are decisive. But according to the current plan, the Federal Network Agency’s app will not be available until mid-December. So you have to be patient for a few days after the TKG amendment comes into effect.
