This is how the Twitter Shopping pilot project works in the USA

After a secret attempt in 2015, the short message service started again with purchase functions. So he’s late.

The special area in which companies are allowed to sell their products wants to test it first in the USA on iOS devices. According to the company, the project began in 2015, but the team had to leave it behind for a long time due to other projects.

The operator selected a handful of providers in order to find out “how our committed, open-minded and talkative audience reacts to products that are emotionally charged (…) – or have a lasting effect (…).” As an example for these two categories, after which the first brands were apparently selected, Twitter mentions “a new jersey for the favorite team” and “a new hair care regimen”. The creators of the new shopping world want to find out which shopping experiences people prefer on Twitter.

Twitter establishes economic council

In addition, the platform would like to be closer to commercial providers. To this end, she founded the “Merchant Advisory Board”, on which the “best-in-class” examples for established retailers are to be found. The advisory board aims to help Twitter better respond to companies of all stripes.

Professional profiles with modular expansion levels

The module expands shopping on Twitter and builds on the Professional Profiles that Twitter introduced at the beginning of the year. Modular components are designed to enable commercial players from large corporations to mini-shop artists to receive bespoke profiles with functions “that are intended to promote engagement and business results”.

Twitter on its way to becoming a profitable company
