This is a smartphone with a moving selfie lens

The Chinese manufacturer Oppo has a new patent that shows a smartphone with a moving selfie lens. It is an interesting novelty that will be added to the well-known Reno series. By the way, in its first Oppo Reno 5G model, it introduced a unique processing of a retractable selfie lens – a shark fin.

What good is a smartphone with a moving selfie lens?

It allows you to create photos from different angles and possibly different widths or lengths. We don’t know yet what something like this will look like. However, such processing requires the return of one, almost forgotten element – we are talking about the upper edge. It will contain a rail along which the mechanism with a selfie lens will move, Letsgodigital mentions.

In idle mode, the camera will stand in one place, but you would be able to set it to the desired position when turned on. This would allow you to take a picture of the side of your face, for example, while you look directly at the screen. It will be possible to control the position of the selfie lens using the buttons on the screen or possibly using a slider. The document also mentions the possibility of using such a mechanism on the back of the smartphone. This would allow you to create better panoramic photos.

Oppo smartphones

Despite the fact that this manufacturer is relatively unknown in Europe, you can also get its mobile phones in Slovakia. At Heureke you will find, for example, the Oppo Find X2 Neo or the smartphones of the aforementioned Reno series.

The most expensive Oppo smartphone that can be found in Slovakia is the Oppo Reno4 Pro 5G. For the price of over 600 €, only Snapdragon 765G offers, which is a bit disappointing. Especially when you find the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro for a much lower price and with a much better processor (Snapdragon 865) and a 108 MP camera.
