This electric car in the final can only be a joke
The finalists for the car of the year 2023 have been chosen. Among the contenders for the prestigious title is an electric car that was not to be expected: Toyota’s bZ4X. The scandal-ridden e-SUV on the shortlist more or less makes the whole ceremony a farce.
No kidding: Toyota’s bZ4X has a chance at the title as Car of the Year 2023
The race for the title of Car of the year 2023 is opened. Seven candidates will compete against each other in the coming weeks, and a jury will decide which model will be honored next year. However, one entry among the finalists makes you sit up and take notice. These vehicles are nominated:
An electric SUV, the Toyota bZ4X, is among the contenders for the 2023 Car of the Year, which was fully recalled in its 2022 year of launch. Car of the Year: All signs point to victory for e-cars
The positive aspect of the pre-selection by the jury, which chose its seven-strong shortlist from 27 candidates, is the proportion of electric cars. Five pure electric vehicles are eligible for the “Car of the Year” award: The Jeep Avenger as the US brand’s first electric car, Nissan’s new electric flagship Ariya, which is to replace the Leaf in the long term, VW’s returned electric Bulli and the combination of Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra (source: car).

The Kia Niro is also available as a pure electric car or as a plug-in hybrid. Incidentally, Kia presented last year’s winner with the EV6. The Peugeot 408, on the other hand, is available as a petrol engine or plug-in hybrid, and a purely electric variant is yet to follow. The Renault Astral, successor to the Kadjar, will only be available in different hybrid versions. He is the only car in the race without a plug.
