A new DAO with the goal of purchasing fast food restaurants, called Fries DAO, has raised more than $5.4 million to reach the goal. The Frisian DAO makers dream of a ‘DAO-ruled fast food franchise empire’. They want to buy fast food outlets with the money. The project describes itself as a “decentralized social experiment where a crypto community builds and runs a fast food franchise empire.”
Vision
The company’s vision is also clear. Imagine a big fast food store in every big city, which was created thanks to your vote. According to the members who discussed the Fries DAO on the team’s Discord channel, community members initially wanted to buy a Subway fast food restaurant.
Of course you also get a discount if you buy food at your ‘own’ business. Frisian DAO plans to create non-fungible token memberships. “We are trying to evolve NFT membership cards, complete with beautiful art and various features, into perks such as food or discounts at our Fries DAO network stores,” the project’s website reads.
