When Telegram releases an update, it usually comes with a series of new features that are added to the service. We also see this with the arrival of Telegram 9.0, with several new free, but also paid functions.

Telegram 9.0

Telegram 9.0 is available as an update in the Google Play Store. With this update, the new version of the messaging service has, among other things, made new features available for Telegram Premium. With Infinite Reactions, you can choose which emoji to add in response to a post with the new comment panel. For the free users, there will also be more reactions available with emojis that were previously only available to paid users. Premium users can comment up to three emojis per message.

Links and download management

Another new feature for Telegram Premium users is the ability to set an emoji status next to their name. You can choose from the many different emojis that are animated. When you have set a username on Telegram, the link will be changed from now on. This is no longer t.me/droidappnl, but now has a new format; droidappnl.t.me, however, it just seems to redirect to the old link.

Furthermore, in Telegram 9.0 the download manager can be opened, where users can indicate which download should be downloaded first. Some new animations have also been added in the new version when opening, closing or modifying media. With the arrival of Android 13, there is also support for thematic icons, and Telegram also offers this support with Telegram 9.0, so that it is more in tune with the theme set.
