This app will help you win the vaccine lottery
The vaccination lottery was launched by the Ministry of Finance a few weeks ago in order to increase the number of vaccinated. Despite the fact that this goal is still not fully achieved, more than a million people have signed up for the lottery. A simple application called could also help them win Win the lottery. What are the prices in the lottery and how does it work?
Anyone who has been vaccinated from 1 August 2021 to 1 October 2021 can apply for the vaccine lottery. They will then receive one or more lottery codes. Every week, from 15 August, the following prizes will be drawn:
- Premium prize: 5 x 100,000 euros
- Automatic prize: 5 x 1,000 euros
- Standard prize: 25 x 10,000 euros
- Basic prize: 100 x 1,000 euros
When drawing the Premium Prize, it is necessary to watch the live broadcast, which runs every Sunday night on RTVS. The password to win is published in the session first. Subsequently, the winner is drawn, who must pick up the phone call from the studio and say the password to win within the time limit. And it is at this point that the application can help the winner Win the lottery.
What does the Win the Lottery application allow and can you do?
The application will send you the current password to your smartphone in the form of a notification, so you don’t have to watch the live broadcast of the draw in RTVS during the call. The application uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) technology from Google to deliver notifications. But that’s not all the app can do. There is also a section in the sidebar My codes to control smaller winnings drawn during the week based on your unique draws.
Enter the lottery code in the text field and confirm it with the Add button. After pressing the Verify button at the bottom of the screen, the application will check the entered codes. Non-winning draws will be marked in red and information on the winner and the amount of the prize will appear for the winning draws. According to the authors of the application, entering and searching for codes should take place locally on your device and thus be anonymous.
The application was created by a pair of students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (FEI STU). In addition to the application, they also created a website of the same name at vyhrajloteriu.sk. The application is available in the Google Play store and also in the App Store for the iOS platform. Unfortunately, it is not yet available for Huawei smartphones.
