A solid bike lock not only protects your two-wheeler from theft, but also saves you a lot of stress. Meanwhile, the police have more than 265,000 Bicycle thefts recorded for the year 2022. But which providers offer the best bicycle locks and how much do they cost?

The best bike locks in the test

The Stiftung Warentest compared 81 bicycle locks. The best locks were analyzed in terms of security, handling, durability and freedom from harmful substances. In the following ranking we present the results and thus the ten best bicycle locks on the German market.

10th place: Axa Newton Pro 190

Tenth place in the ranking goes to an Axa padlock. The model Newton Pro 190 costs an average of 40 euros in online shops. Security and durability were each rated “very good”. Overall, however, the castle only achieves the judgment of 5.5. The reason: a high proportion of pollutants.
