The very expensive Snowbot S1 makes your driveway snow-free
Shoveling snow is hard work, but with the Snowbot S1, it’s not that bad. The autonomous robot just does it automatically for you!
Winter is coming and that might mean metric tons of snow just like last year. Dangerous if you have to stumble to your car with your head still half asleep. Fortunately, Hanyang Robotics is releasing a great new robot that makes snow shoveling a lot easier. In fact, you literally don’t have to do anything when you have the Snowbot S1.
Snowbot S1
The Wall-E-like snow robot is the perfect tool for the lazy snow shovel. You release the electronic, smart snow thrower in your driveway, garden or sidewalk and press start. The Snowbot S1 does the rest. Or you should like to control the machine yourself, because Hanyang Robotics also supplies a controller for convenience.
First you have to ‘map’ the surface to be cleaned up, which is done with three supplied sensors. The robot stays within the indicated lines and, according to the maker, clears up to 99% of all snow.
The Snowbot S1 can clear up to 1.5 hours of snow on a surface of up to 140 square meters on a single battery charge. With the nozzle, the robot shoots all sucked up snow up to 5 meters away. This mechanism is adjustable.
For now, the Snowbot is only able to clear rectangular surfaces. The maker promises more advanced forms in the future, which will come to all users through an update.
Now the key question is, what does this piece of very specific technology cost? The robot is now available as a pre-order and will cost $2999 dollars, converted about €2600 euros. Well, you have to have something for the convenience!
