The update to the One UI 3.1 extension has started

Graphic superstructure One UI 3.1 for Android 11 stated by Samsung along with the Samsung Galaxy S21 flagship series. Since then, however, it has been acquired by other models and now, according to the portal SamMobile they also experienced flagship models from 2019 Samsung Galaxy Note 10 a Galaxy Note 10+.

March security patch already in February

The update for Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is marked N97xFXXU6FUBD and is currently available in Germany. Gradually, it should be added to other markets along with an update for the smaller Samsung Galaxy Note 10. For models purchased as part of mobile operators’ flat rates, the update could be slightly delayed.

The update is available in the form of an OTA update and its size is 1035.78 GB. The owners of this smartphone will certainly be pleased with the better security of the system, because it also contains a March security patch. And this is despite the fact that it is still February. Samsung thus confirms the excellent software support, which it recently extended to 4 years in the case of security updates.

New data sharing feature with blockchain technology

The main advantage of the update, however, is certainly the extension of One UI 3.1, which of course improves the Android 11 system itself. Secure data sharing between phones is to be ensured by the new Private Share function. It works similar to Quick Share, but uses the well-known blockchain technology for transmission.

Eye Comfort Shield is an improved function of the blue filter for the AMOLED display of the smartphone. They should relieve the eyes and the general body of the user when looking at the display for a long time. The Calendar and Gallery applications have also been improved. When sharing pictures, you can delete the location where they were taken.

The calendar should automatically save scheduled notifications from SmartThings devices. The quality of photos in low light should also be improved. In addition to software enhancements, the graphical environment, such as some icons and animations, should change slightly.

How is the competition?

At the beginning of the month, the Finnish brand Nokia updated its first Nokia 8.3 5G model to Android 11. Xiaomi has updated a number of its smartphones, including models of the standalone Redmi brand. An example is Redmi Note 9S. Huawei has again brought the EMUI 11 superstructure to the Huawei P40, P40 Pro and Mate 30 Pro models. Unfortunately, still with the older Android 10 system.

Motorola recently began distributing Android 11 for its very first Motorola moto g pro smartphone. OnePlus has previously updated the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro models. They received OxygenOS 11 built on the Android 11 system. After the new year, the Japanese company Sony did not launch an update for its Xperia 10 II, Xperia 5 II or Xperia 1 and 5 smartphones.
