The Učko application will bring teachers information from the Ministry of Education

After the end of the state of emergency, Slovak schools are fully open and teachers have a lot of work to do with students they have not seen for several months. A new mobile application also wants to help them with that Učkoto provide them with up – to – date information from Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic. The portal informs about it seredonline.sk.

The application provides teachers with current information from the Ministry of Education

Application of news from the portal We teach at a distance in the form of information on ministerial decisions, manuals or guidelines for schools from the workshop of the Ministry of Education, as well as information on upcoming webinars. Teachers can also use the virtual counseling service in the application.

We want the ministry to be closer to teachers, students and parents. From the beginning, we therefore try to intensively communicate all measures and inform schools and parents. This app is the next step in getting information from the ministry closer to the teachers.

Branislav Gröhling, Minister of Education

The application was created in cooperation with the Digital league program

The free application was created by the State Pedagogical Institute in cooperation with the participants of the Digital League educational program. The idea of a mobile application was first developed into an initial prototype, which included a design proposal and basic functionality covering the needs of teachers. After incorporating the feedback from the testers, Učko in the stable version is now ready to be a good tool for Slovak teachers.

We were interested in the cooperation, as it met all the criteria we have in the program, so that the output is digital innovation with a social impact.

Radovan Šalitroš, co-founder of the Digital League program

The Učko app is available for free download from Google Play and the Apple Store. After filling in the basic data, Učko will show the teacher the most relevant information with regard to the region in which it is located or the type of school facility in which it operates. The name of the application follows the first letter to the name of the We Learn Distance learning portal and refers to the target group to which the application is primarily intended – the teacher.

We consider the support of teachers to be one of the most important conditions for maintaining the quality of education even during the demanding period associated with a pandemic situation. Even when students are returning to school, a mobile app can be helpful for teachers. Through it, they are able to obtain up-to-date information on webinars aimed at supporting the return of students to schools, support the mental health of students and teachers, and in the future about the upcoming compensation tools aimed at leveling knowledge differences between students.
