The Splay is a foldable monitor, TV and beamer in 1
With the Splay you can turn the flexible foldable full-HD screen into a glorious beamer in no time at all.
TVs, smartphones and monitors are getting bigger and bigger, but sometimes you just want something compact. A trending Kickstarter project called Splay is just that and more. The foldable screen fits in a package the size of a lunch box and when unfolded it serves as a monitor/TV and as a beamer. The crowdfunding project has already raised a sloppy $290,000 dollars and is being produced anyway.
Splay: from screen to beamer
The Splay is primarily a monitor with a 24.5-inch screen with a 1080p resolution. Users can stream content wirelessly to the receiver/beamer via Bluetooth or with an HDMI cable. Due to the foldable frame and the tiny size, the screen can be taken almost anywhere.
If you want to go big, you can also transform the gadget into an 80-inch screen within seconds. The Splay is a beamer that can project images on its own flexible screen or on a large flat wall. So you can also easily impromptu a game of football or play Super Mario. The company behind the gadget promises up to 4 hours of battery life, but with a USB-C cable and plug you can make it as late as you want!
In short, the 2-in-1 projector does not have any practical drawbacks. The only drawback is the price; the Splay will be available from July 2022 for around $1300. That is still cheaper than buying a beamer and a monitor, but it is nevertheless a lot of money.
