The situation in Activision is said to frighten job seekers -apkrig

The dissatisfaction of the employees of Activision, Blizzard and King did not disappear, despite the slight calming of the situation. Individual developers are still demanding previously proposed changes, and high expectations are also coming from the lawsuit that the state of California will take against Activision after a lawsuit by the Office for Fair Working Conditions. Therefore, it can be expected that until the verdict and with it the changes in the corporate culture come, critical comments from the center of the named subjects and information on how actively the management is proceeding in the promised points of redress will appear regularly. But while such an approach will serve to increase transparency and, from an objective point of view, also to increase the ability of management to react and present their opinions, it will have a negative impact on people’s interest in working for society. This is confirmed by the messages of Activision recruiters towards loud employees to leave their speeches and not frighten potential candidates for jobs.

For example, UI designer Valentine Powell spoke about the contact from the human resources department on his Twitter. He claims to have noticed recruiters addressing individual employees of Acitivision, Blizzard and King (ABK), who are more active in pushing for changes in the workplace, and telling them to stop being so zealous. Naturally, he does not like this and adds that he does not approve of such an approach, especially when it comes to trying to make ABK a better place to work. “Our demands have not changed and at the same time no one has responded to them. We want to make improvements in our companies, but we can’t do it alone, ”says Powell. In the comments, as expected, Powell’s colleagues and employees from other companies express support and marvel at the whole situation, which – if based on the truth – is definitely not good for the whole thing.

Another who talks about the strange practices of recruiters is Jessica Gonzalez from Blizzard. In response to Powell’s tweet, she added a screenshot of the alleged message she had received from the human resources department. “Hi, Jessica. I work in the front line as a recruiter. Some of the articles you have shared scare our candidates, ”says an unnamed employee. Jessica Gonzalez is then invited to share information about the changes that ABK is making in the fight against the toxic work environment, which, in the opinion of that recruiter Gonzalez, is not doing that. But even this, of course, provoked a negative wave of reactions in which individual discussants do not understand why HR proceeds in this way and point out that the whole situation may be aggravated by the publication of similar messages.

The situation does, however the other side did not respond, regardless of the number of responses and sharing on social networks. In addition, it is not clear whether there is a systematic warning to employees or not action individuals. In the field of efforts to improve, the ABK management has already spoken, for example, about the immediate dismissal of managers who commit offenses against the company’s articles of association, more active listening to ordinary employees or changes made directly in the games. However, key points remain, such as the possibility of resolving disputes in public, not through internal arbitration or equal working conditions for people of both sexes.
