The second episode of the retro FPS TIP takes us among the Hussites -apkrig

Just before the end of the year, we were pleasantly surprised by the news that the Czech retro shooter HROT will be released on January 29. On this day, the home variation on Quake will enter the Steam Pre-Access Program, and its first episode will offer 8 levels, 16 enemy types, 9 weapons, and four boss fights. Of course, this novelty did not leave me cold and I immediately had to ask the author of the game Spytihněva for further details.

How long will the first episode be?
The first episode has 8 levels and the first pass is for 2 hours. Of course, it will be longer with higher difficulty or with searching for hiding places. After finishing, the Endless Arena and New Game + mode will be unlocked, where enemies are otherwise deployed and items and weapons that were not in the original campaign can be encountered.

An underground corridor leads from the Palace of Culture to Vyšehrad, where it climbs through casemates to Výtoň to the Vltava.

Is it possible to reveal something about the content and locations we will visit in the first episode?
The first episode is set in the capital, starting in the shelter of civil protection under the Kosmonautů metro station (today’s Háje) and ending in an underground laboratory under the Vítkov memorial. You will walk through Užák, then through the sewer to the Old Treatment Plant in Bubeneč and from there via Vinohrady to the Gottwaldova metro station (today’s Vyšehrad). From the Palace of Culture (today’s Congress Center) there is an underground corridor to Vyšehrad, where it climbs through casemates to Výtoň to the Vltava. From there, he travels through a tunnel upstream of the Botič, which I moved to the Šítkovská water tower, through a medieval cellar to Vítkov. But as I mentioned before, all levels are fictional and only come from real locations. For example, I don’t know at all if there is any shelter in Háje.

What was the most difficult part of finalizing the first episode?
It is the combination of a real environment with a ninety-abstract map design.

How long should TIP be in the preliminary access program?
These estimates never worked out for me, but Steam will show 9 to 18 months.

How much content will the full version offer then?
3 episodes are traditional. The second episode, or part of it, should be in the Hussite era, and weapons and enemies will be adapted to this. Which is very Daikatan. In the underground below Vítkov, where the first episode ends, a hook and a Hussite pavilion can be found as a harbinger of this…

Will it be possible for players to create some content for the TIP themselves?
There will definitely be support for modding, it simply belongs to this genre.

How much will the early access version cost?
16.79 eur

And what about other platforms?
I’m not planning yet.
