The Samsung Galaxy S21 trio receives their first update

The new Samsung Galaxy S21 series has not even come on sale yet and is already receiving its first update. They bring several news that we will talk about in a moment, and in addition the January security patches. Along with them, the Samsung Galaxy Pro headphones also received an update, but we addressed this in the article Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro receive the first update.

Samsung Galaxy S21s receive their first update

It is a common practice that companies improve their products at the last minute so that customers have the best possible first impression. In addition to the mentioned January security patches, the following news are also coming to S21:

  • Improve camera performance
  • Improve the stability and connectivity of Wi-Fi connections
  • Improved fingerprint recognition
  • Overall feature stability improvements

All of these improvements are significant and should increase the convenience of using the device. Improvements to fingerprint scanners and cameras are never bad, and certainly a better Wi-Fi connection will always work. Updates have the numbers G998BXXU1AUA4, G99BOXM1AUA4, and G998BXXU1AUA4. On average, the updates are around 1 GB, but given the changes they bring, it’s a nice size. Our test pieces have not yet received the update, but Android Central is confident that the updates will be released by January 29 and will be available to the first owners.

Competition

The competition is in full swing with the updates. For example, LG, which has long been accused of slow updates, takes great care of its innovative flagship LG Wing. The latest update improves its main element – the dual display. Slowly but surely, it becomes a full-fledged display.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer Xiaomi is not doing so well, who again has problems with his A-line. From personal experience, I know that the Mi A2 updates were rather a pain and it seems that things haven’t changed even with the newer Mi A3 model. At least its MIUI 12.5 looks interesting and slow, but it’s certainly spreading around the world.

ASUS, meanwhile, is catching up in terms of software and adding to its ROG Phone 2 90 fps mode for the famous PUBG game. This mode has long been supported by all OnePlus mobile phones with a 90 fps display, for which it was until recently exclusive.
