The original Oculus Quest -apkrig also offers a wireless connection to a PC

Although the original version of the Oculus Quest VR headset can still be considered one of the best devices that can be described as a gateway to the world of virtual reality, the second generation of the mentioned headset was able to open the imaginary gate of that gateway a little more. For an affordable price – ranging from 12,500 to 15,000 crowns depending on the size of the internal storage – you get a more powerful and ergonomic device that you can take anywhere, or use it just as effectively as a desktop variant for all your favorite titles, for example on Steam. Like the first generation, the Oculus Quest 2 also offered support for a wired connection to a PC, but the device moved the device even further through the Air Link wireless connection. It was talked about as an exclusivity for Quest 2 and could become one of the reasons why the owners of the original Quest should be interested in the new generation. But suddenly and really unexpectedly, this dilemma may not be solved at all – Mark Zuckerberg, as the owner of Oculus VR, has confirmed that Air Link will work on the older model, free of charge through one of the upcoming updates.

Zuckerberg’s post on Facebook seems very inconspicuous at first glance. In a very short and virtually meaningless video, he wanted to demonstrate the changes brought by the firmware update to version 30. He underlined that the device can now function even more efficiently as a home virtual office, which is also ready for multitasking, but said nothing and everything summed up in a short description. In the first comment, however, he mentioned that support for Air Link will arrive on Quest 1 as well, but did not give a date or an approximate estimate of when users could wait. Put aside, the founder of Facebook prefers did not adjust He added his post and quite crucial information to the comments, it’s about unlocking a great feature that will completely free VR gamers on the computer from cables and any other restrictions. Thanks to the resolution of 1440 × 1600 points for one eye, even the first generation of the Quest is no end-of-life device, and after Zuckerberg’s announcement, it takes a second breath.

The other information that came to Quest’s account is no longer so joyful and follows the inconvenience associated with the need to have a Facebook account so that both generations of the headset can be used meaningfully. The current report concerns advertisements that should start appearing in applications and games, which means that Facebook wants to make Quest an independent platform for VR. Ads from Facebook began to appear in the mobile application in May and are logically targeted directly at the user who is logged in to their Facebook account on the device. After all, a company spokesman confirmed that the device will use information about the content you viewed on Facebook, or what applications you have installed in the headset, or included in the wish list. The ads will be interactive and can either be clicked on directly or saved at a later time.
